If you've been waiting a long, long time for the Nexus 4 smartphone to come to India, we've got some good news for you. The Nexus 4 is now available for pre-order in India from multiple online retailers including Flipkart for Rs. 25,990.
Unlike the Nexus 7 tablet, the Nexus 4 will not be sold through Google’s Play Store but instead directly through retailers. While it’s great news that the phone is finally here, it sure has taken a long time getting here. The Nexus 4 was originally launched in October of last year and has since then been sold in many countries except for India.
For the uninitiated, the Nexus 4 is an Android smartphone marketed and sold by Google (but manufactured by LG) with a 4.7 inch IPS display with a resolution of 1280x768 pixels (318 ppi). It is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor clocked at 1.5 GHz and 2 GB of RAM. Imaging is taken care of by an 8 MP camera with an LED flash that can also shoot full-HD videos. It packs a 2100 mAh battery. The Nexus 4 launched with Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) and the 4.2.2 update for the phone has already been made available.
So, will you pick up the Nexus 4 now that it’s here or do you think Google launched it too late in India?
